Taco Sliders with Grilled Peppers and Onions

Have I mentioned how much I love Mexican food Well, I do. I do, I do, I do-oooh.

These Mexican slider burgers really hit the spot. I cooked the onions and peppers down for about 30 minutes or so after seasoning the meat with a taco-like seasoning mix.

For the burgers:

  • 1 lb. 100% grass fed beef *
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper

1. Mix all ingredients together. I was able to make six slider patties out of 1 lb. of ground meat.

You’ll also need:

  • 1 onion
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 Tbs. olive oil
  • salt and pepper

1. Heat a large skillet on medium heat. Drizzle in your olive oil.

2. Slice the onion and bell pepper and add to the skillet with salt and pepper.

3. Brown the onions and peppers for a few minutes, then turn the heat on low and cook down until they are soft and sweet.

Add some sliced avocado, tomato, and a little mayo spiced up with cilantro and lime juice, and you’ve got yourself one heck of a burger. It may be little, but it sure packs punch!

Delicious, flavorful punch.

*I found 100% grass fed beef at Target. The brand is Thousand Hills Cattle Company. It comes in a tiny little pack. It’s one pound without all that extra styrofoam and packaging. Pretty tasty, too!
