We threw one of my very best friends the most pinterest-y and awesome baby shower this weekend! This baby shower wasn’t your average baby shower. Little Spencer decided she just wasn’t going to wait until her scheduled arrival so she was also in attendance! There was burlap, gold polka dots, white hydrangeas, candles, party lights, and delicious eats all over the place. We even had a photo booth!
We used a vertical plant thing, strung some lights on it, made a pendant banner, and used it for guests to put their gifts. This is the “before”.
Yay! Baby Spencer racked up!
Here’s our photo “booth”. It was more of a backdrop. We found some props like a mustache, glasses, lips, hats, etc. for guests to use. We made the photo backdrop with crepe paper, fabric strips, twine, and burlap. We attached tied all the fabric and crepe paper to a wide piece of burlap which we then attached to a long skinny piece of wood. We used a stencil to make the “photo booth” sign and strung it in front.
Of course, there was sangria! No function is complete without it. We used mason jars and cute chevron straws to fit the theme.
We used these old tubs (which I’m completely and utterly obsessed with) for beer and soft drinks.
We had a very generous helper build a bar for us! How lucky are we? It’s open in the back so we could store all of our extra jars, napkins, etc. Perfect! We also used an old mirror and wrote the drinks on it.
We used this old vase, wrapped in twine, for decoration on the bar. Love hydrangeas! And mercury glass? Yes, please!
Our tables were dressed with plain white table cloths and this awesome gold polka dot burlap (from JoAnn!). We gathered and tied the ends of the burlap with thick twine.
The center pieces were a square mirror with white flowers in a mason jar and lots of candles.
We needed some tables and we definitely didn’t want “regular” tables. We borrowed some some old wine crates and used a closet door as the top. The closet door was stained with Olympic “Weathered Barn Board” Stain. We used this “table” to put all the yummy desserts.
We put party lights ev.ry.where. Everywhere. And it was totally worth it! We strung them across the yard, over the arch into the backyard, and around every window.
All of our hard work paid off! All of the guests, especially the special mamma, had a great night!
